Morning car trip
Road ahead through the windscreen and passenger talk: stable framing, usable audio, low sun handled.
Follow the screens in order. Each card shows the gesture to reach the screen, then the settings to set.
1Settings
How to get there: Swipe down > Settings
Gimbal Startup Direction
Set to: Last Setting
Why: Stopping and restarting at lights keeps the camera facing the way you left it.
The manual details Last Setting: with Follow or Tilt Locked the camera faces forward or backward as last used; with FPV it resumes the last orientation.
Audio Backup
Set to: On: separate .aac file
Why: Keeps the camera microphone as a safety track while the wireless microphone is in use.
Records the built-in microphone alongside a wireless microphone. Not supported in Timelapse, Webcam and DisplayPort modes.
2Camera view
How to get there: Liveview after power on (tap the on-screen icons)
Shooting mode
Set to: Video
Why: Video mode. Note the manual warns against high-vibration mounts such as motorcycle or bike handlebars; a hand-held or soft dash mount in a car is a different case. Craft recommendation, not from the manual.
Tap the mode icon at the bottom left, swipe to choose, then tap the mode or swipe up to return. ActiveTrack is unavailable in Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse and SpinShot.
3Control center
How to get there: Swipe down from the top of the camera view
Gimbal mode
Set to: FPV for the road, Follow for people
Why: FPV follows the handle for immersive first-person footage; Follow suits talking passengers.
Follow (default) suits most scenes incl. vlogs and selfies. Tilt Locked suits push-in/pull-out and lateral moves. FPV follows the handle freely for immersive shots; FPV⊥ keeps the camera perpendicular to the handle on power-on or recenter.
Shooting orientation
Set to: Landscape
Why: Prevents auto-rotation from flipping to portrait when the camera is laid at an angle.
Wireless Microphone
Set to: Link a DJI transmitter on the speaker
Why: The built-in mic sits next to the road noise; a linked transmitter captures the voice and can start recording.
Links up to two DJI transmitters; once linked, tap it to adjust transmitter audio parameters.
Screen brightness
Set to: Adaptive brightness on
Why: Low morning sun through glass; adaptive brightness is intended for outdoor light.
Adaptive brightness is meant for outdoor use.
4Image and audio settings
How to get there: Swipe left in the camera view
PRO parameters
Set to: Tap PRO: lock exposure once the road is framed
Why: Craft recommendation, not from the manual. Trees and bridges change the light every second; a locked exposure avoids pumping.
Tap PRO to adjust the pro parameters. The manual does not list them; exposure-related values are set here on the camera.
