Night video
City lights, streets after dark, dim interiors: keep the image clean and the motion smooth.

1 Camera view
How to get there: Liveview after power on (tap the on-screen icons)
Shooting mode
From the manualSet to Video
Video mode gives access to the smart gimbal modes and Film Tone; Timelapse would drop ActiveTrack.
Tap the mode icon at the bottom left, swipe to choose, then tap the mode or swipe up to return. ActiveTrack is unavailable in Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse and SpinShot.
Zoom level
Craft tipSet to 1x
The wide camera gathers the most light; 3x and 6x use the med-tele path. Craft recommendation, not from the manual.
Tap the zoom level to switch quickly, or use the Zoom button: once for 3x, twice for 6x, press and hold to zoom continuously, once more at any level to go back to 1x.
Focus and metering point
From the manualSet to Tap the lit subject, not the dark background
A single tap focuses and meters on that point, so the metering follows the bright part of the frame.
Single tap the liveview to focus and meter on that point.
2 Image and audio settings
How to get there: Swipe left in the camera view
Color mode
From the manualSet to D-Log 10bit (grade later) or Standard (publish as is)
The manual recommends D-Log for high-contrast scenes; night streets are exactly that. Use Standard if you will not grade.
D-Log modes keep more dynamic range for color grading in post. The manual names D-Log 10bit and D-Log 2 10bit; other modes are as shown on the camera.
Color Recovery
From the manualSet to On
Lets you judge exposure on a graded-looking preview while shooting in D-Log.
Only with D-Log 10bit or D-Log 2 10bit: previews the graded look in the liveview.
PRO parameters
Craft tipSet to Tap PRO: keep the exposure value low enough that lights do not clip; prefer a slower shutter to a higher sensitivity
Craft recommendation, not from the manual. The manual does not list the PRO values; a 1/50 s shutter at 25 fps keeps motion natural and lets you lower ISO.
Tap PRO to adjust the pro parameters. The manual does not list them; exposure-related values are set here on the camera.
3 Control center
How to get there: Swipe down from the top of the camera view
Gimbal mode
From the manualSet to Follow
Default and suited to most scenes; lets the camera pan smoothly while you walk.
Follow (default) suits most scenes incl. vlogs and selfies. Tilt Locked suits push-in/pull-out and lateral moves. FPV follows the handle freely for immersive shots; FPV⊥ keeps the camera perpendicular to the handle on power-on or recenter.
Rotational Speed
Craft tipSet to Lowest comfortable speed
Slower following hides hand jitter that is more visible at longer shutter times. Craft recommendation, not from the manual.
Adjusts how fast the gimbal follows the handle.
Screen brightness
From the manualSet to Slider down, adaptive brightness off
Adaptive brightness is intended for outdoor daylight; a dim screen judges night exposure better and saves battery.
Adaptive brightness is meant for outdoor use.
