Sports and action

Kids on bikes, a football match, a runner: keep the subject tracked and the frame steady.

Follow the screens in order. Each card shows the gesture to reach the screen, then the settings to set.

  1. 1Camera view

How to get there: Liveview after power on (tap the on-screen icons)

    • Shooting mode

      Set to: Video

Why: ActiveTrack and the smart gimbal modes need Photo or Video mode.

Tap the mode icon at the bottom left, swipe to choose, then tap the mode or swipe up to return. ActiveTrack is unavailable in Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse and SpinShot.

    • ActiveTrack

Set to: Centered Tracking: double-tap the athlete

Why: Double-tapping starts tracking and keeps the subject centred; press the joystick or tap to stop.

Available in Photo and Video mode. Press the joystick or tap the screen to exit.

    • Smart gimbal mode

Set to: Multi-Person Tracking for team sports

Why: Tracks several subjects and keeps them centred while tracking.

Video mode only: tap the smart gimbal mode icon on the left of the liveview.

  2. 2Image and audio settings

How to get there: Swipe left in the camera view

    • PRO parameters

Set to: Tap PRO: fast shutter, higher frame rate in Parameter settings

Why: Craft recommendation, not from the manual. Fast movement needs a short shutter to avoid smear; a higher frame rate allows slow motion in the edit. The manual does not list values.

Tap PRO to adjust the pro parameters. The manual does not list them; exposure-related values are set here on the camera.

  3. 3Parameter settings

How to get there: Swipe up from the bottom of the camera view

    • Parameters of the current shooting mode

Set to: Highest frame rate your resolution allows

Why: Set here per the manual (swipe up); exact options are shown on the camera. Craft recommendation, not from the manual.

The manual states that parameters differ per shooting mode and refers to the actual interface; it lists no values. Set resolution, frame rate and similar options here, then swipe down from the top to return to the liveview.

  4. 4Control center

How to get there: Swipe down from the top of the camera view

    • Gimbal mode

      Set to: Follow

Why: Pan and tilt follow the handle while roll stays level, so fast pans stay horizontal.

Follow (default) suits most scenes incl. vlogs and selfies. Tilt Locked suits push-in/pull-out and lateral moves. FPV follows the handle freely for immersive shots; FPV⊥ keeps the camera perpendicular to the handle on power-on or recenter.

    • Rotational Speed

      Set to: Fast

Why: A faster following speed keeps up with quick direction changes. Craft recommendation, not from the manual.

Adjusts how fast the gimbal follows the handle.

    • Custom Mode

Set to: Save as a custom mode

Why: Saves this set so the next match starts with one tap.

Saves the current shooting settings so similar scenes can be shot directly later.
